For centuries, the Western World has viewed Hecate as being the "evil, old hag" or the "goddess of evil and destruction" -- the devil in disguise. However, Hecate's true nature is one of life -- the Queen of All Living Things. She is the embodiment of the Triple Goddess -- Maiden, Mother, and Crone. She is the Goddess of the Moon, Goddess of Crossroads, and Goddess of Transition.

Hecate teaches us that we must face our fears and assumptions. It is only through facing them that we can overcome them. She is the Torch-Bearer and through Her we are able to shine a light into our inner darkness and unravel the mysteries lying within. Women are liberated through Her as She breaks the bonds that hold us -- even those that we create for ourselves.

Hecate is not a "coddling" Goddess -- Her wrath is swift, and She deals harshly with those who would do harm to Her followers. Those who seek Her must do so with open minds and open hearts for Her actions are swift and changes occur rapidly. She does not tolerate foolishness and is very likely to deal harshly with those who bring a situation upon themselves.

Hecate's path leads into the Darkness -- the Darkness within. If you fear to tread this path, seek your enlightenment elsewhere.
